Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling on the ground. The goal is to gain a dominant position and force an opponent to submit/accept defeat using joint locks and chokes. Many styles require that a practitioner be strong, fast, or flexible to execute basic techniques. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu emphasizes technique over these physical qualities. A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner (or "Jiujiteiro") will use position and leverage to defeat a larger, stronger opponent. Hence, it's the top combat sports across the world for self defense. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gives a lot of physical and fitness based results, specially when compared to traditional gym based workouts. Strength training, increase in core strength, improvement of muscle tone, reduction of fat, better balance, coordination and cardio varcular capacity are just some of the advantages. ICSA has been for the last three years the most dominant team in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in India, with the fight team clean sweeping tournaments.
