Hitting a gym and performing all kind of exercises and weights might not give the desired results sometimes. According to fitness mavens, it is best to perform certain exercises firmly that will help you achieve your goal rather than doing everything. We have listed some of our personal favorite workouts that are worth doing with combat sports.
1. Squats
This is a very common workout that can be done by any individual. We do this workout normally in our daily activities. Here, we are talking in particular about ‘Barbell squats'. This is a complete compound exercise along with the usage of variations time to time. Best to build up to sets of 15 repetitions of maximum weight, followed by a set of higher repetition of about 15 with lighter weight. This workout builds muscles in the entire body, optimizes balance, and a great calorie burn exercise.
2. Pull Ups
This workout is great for building upper body strength and endurance. Additionally, it is very effective in building all the vital grip strength for Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The workout also includes variations but should be performed for high repetitions.
3. Clean and Press
The one mentioned here is an Olympic Clean variety. This is a complete body workout, starting with a deadlift going into a pull and push movement. This workout builds up the explosiveness which is seen in Olympic sports such as weightlifting and sprinting which is necessary to deliver that knockout punch or the crucial scramble while grappling.
4. Push Ups
This is a very important pushing exercise which can be performed with a lot of variety. Performing this exercise regularly will increase a body's balance stability and endurance.
5. Olympic Snatch
This is a highly technical lift, the ultimate workout for building explosiveness, and strength, especially in legs, core, and shoulders.
6. Bent over Rows/Pendalay Rows
This a compound exercise, a simple alternative for a pulling type exercise to be performed with a Barbell, but involves lesser muscles than the pull-up.
